The industry has proposed relaxing the conditions for land acquisition and simplifying requests for miscellaneous licenses, and has received strong support from legislators and local governments during the meeting.

In order to reflect the needs of the industry, Cao Shilun, president of SEMI Taiwan, stated that SEMI PV Group will continue to bridge the gap between the industry and the central and local governments to reflect the actual challenges faced by the industry and make relevant recommendations. He hopes to integrate all forces and promote the development of the solar industry in Taiwan. .

CPV has high conversion efficiency and heat-resistance characteristics and has recently emerged in solar power plants in southern Europe, the Middle East, China, India, Africa, and the United States. This has great market potential. According to Soitec, the CPV solar market will grow at a robust rate of 145% over the next five years. It is estimated that the global CPV market will reach 1.8GW by 2015.

In addition to the CPV Luzhu demonstration site built by Nuclear Research Institute in Kaohsiung, Pingtung County plans to complete the construction of a 3MW CPV power plant this year. Despite being a national-level model electric field, the Institute of Nuclear Research still encountered many difficulties when it acquired land to establish the Luzhu demonstration site. The sudden drop in solar power generation subsidies and the complexity of the application process have allowed Mao Xin, chairman of the company, to directly state: “The government's energy policy is uncertain and will hinder the development of Taiwan’s solar optoelectronics industry.”

And Chen Yili, general manager of Yifang, pointed out: “The price-setting committee of the Energy Administration should actually inspect and understand the environment and costs of different types of power plants. Taiwan’s CPV supply chain is complete, but due to domestic policy restrictions, companies lack training grounds. The Institute of Nuclear Energy positions the Luzhu Electric Field as a demonstration site for the MW class and can be used as a verification platform for domestic CPV technology. It is hoped that the “sample housing” effect can be used to capture the international market.
